Hi! I'm MJ and I've been in the photography industry for over 15 years now! I photograph newborns, and maternity all in my Chesapeake studio. I've been featured in several print magazines and have won numerous awards for my newborn and maternity work. I am blessed to get to mentor and teach other photographers all over the WORLD!
I was also recently the ranked #1 in the state of Virginia as a top rated business.

I have grown in this industry to capture timeless, classic looks for my clients, which is what I have become known for. I focus on my subjects to create simple, but stunning memories for you. I'm all about giving you something outside the box. GLAM is the name of the game when it comes to being in front of my camera.
I am a full service studio. I have a stunning client closet for your maternity and newborn needs. I offer makeup at the studio, prior to your session time. I go out of my way to make you feel like a princess. You SHOULD feel gorgeous when you are in my studio!!

MJ has a beautifully designed studio where she works with newborns, maternity, and small children. All family sessions are on location. The studio is stocked with goodies for all sessions, including snacks and coffee for you! The goal is to have a relaxed environment so photos can be fun and be easy. MJ provides it all, so sit back and watch the magic unfold!

Mj is amazing! For one she is always responsive and super nice. She did our maternity pictures in a beautiful location and we had a great time! The pictures turned out beautiful. She did absolutely amazing with our newborn baby girl I have no idea how she does what she does and got our baby girl to be calm and asleep while getting her in her poses but she does it and it’s a real talent :) I wish we could have afforded every single picture she took! You get what you pay for that’s for sure. Go with MJ!! :)

MJ was so flexible a scheduling us when our son arrived early. He was more active and alert by the time he was able to be photographed, but MJ knew every trick in the book and was so patient working with him to get our shots! An unexpected perk was learning some of her tricks to swaddle/soothe- super helpful with a newborn! She gave us a huge variety of backgrounds/set ups so we had a nice collection of unique photos. The quality of the photos is incredible, so crisp and vibrant. The quality was far greater than any of the other photoshoots we've done with other photographers- she is well worth every penny!

MJ is the BABY WHISPERER! We took our newborn son to her studio for his photos at 8 days old. He slept soundly for two solid hours with her while she changed his outfits / changed his position / changed his backgrounds. Her creativity and professionalism is AMAZING and her product is PRICELESS.
My husband was a little skeptical about the financial investment but after going to the newborn photo session he was happy to provide all of our credit card information for SO many photos!
We are lucky to have found MJ and will definitely be coming back for future sessions!

I can't stress enough how talented MJ is; she really does have a great eye for photography! I have admired her work for years! 2017 is a big year for my family; my husband and I both turned 50, my mom turns 75, dad turns 80, youngest son 14 and started HS, middle son turned sweet 16, and oldest son turns 20 and came to visit from being stationed across the country. Whew! So my husband and I wanted this year captured in time. MJ did not disappoint!! From the very beginning, she worked patiently with us trying to decide exactly what we wanted. She even gave us great advice on what to wear! During our photo session, she was funny, and very personable. Even had my 3 boys relaxed and smiling and that's not easy to do! Our session with her to look at our pictures was fun! My husband and I wanted all our pictures that she took! Yes, she's THAT GOOD!!! We cannot be happier with the results!! Thank you, MJ!! The minute I met MJ I was excited just off of her energy and knew she would make the experience great while taking my maternity photos. She is so creative and really takes your ideas and brings them to life. She also did an amazing job with my newborn photos and was so patient and comforting the entire time. I’m in awe of my maternity photos and newborn photos. Mj’s work was incredible. She was super friendly and professional, kind and gentle with babies and accommodates your needs to the T.
