Your Chesapeake Newborn Photography Experience
There is no "do over" for a newborn session. They grow so fast! It's important that you hire a photographer based on skill and expertise.... not just price. I have grown in this industry to become known for being one of the best in the Virginia Beach area. I have a newborn assistant that works alongside me for all my newborn sessions, helping to support your brand new baby in these poses, insuring your baby's safety. We shoot at one week old, so that we get all the beautifulness of the newborn stage.

The first step to having your own jaw dropping images is saying hello!! Use the contact form and send me your info. Let me know your what week you are currently in in your pregnancy, and what sessions you are interested in and I will send you additional info and set you up with a free in person consultation.

Once you hear back from me, and you like what you see, we will set you up with your in person consultation. This takes place in my studio if you are in town, but zoom is available as well for my out-of-town families. It is during the consult where we discuss in detail how it all works, what your looking for in your session and we also cover pricing in detail. I then book you for your due date.
This is the day you have been waiting for! This session is extra fun to watch us work! We take the utmost care when shooting with your brand new babe. My assistant and I do all the work and my clients love to sit back at watch us do our thing. The newborn session is typically about 2 hours long and we go through 6 prop setups and bean bag poses. Family can be added on as well.
3. let's shoot!
About a week after your session we will sit down via zoom and look through all your gorgeous images. I do help you narrow it all down to whatever package you are wanting. Not an easy process because my clients have a hard time narrowing them down... this is a GOOD thing... so many amazing options.
4. The zoom reveal
If you have chosen to order physical prints, I will let you know when they are in for pickup. This is one of my most favorite days. I LOVE seeing you hold your actual prints and admire them. This is my "why." THIS is why I do what I do! I LOVE seeing you open your printed images in person!

I booked the maternity and newborn package and to say me and my husband were amazed with how everything turned out would be an understatement! MJ did such great job on both the maternity and newborn photos and I’ve never gotten photos done ever so I was a bit nervous but she made me feel comfortable and explained step by step on everything to help us out. We just finished our newborn baby’s photo shoot. This will be the second time I’ve used MJ as not only our newborn photographer but also for maternity. Working with her is super fun! Her studio is very clean, relaxing, cozy warm, and has an elegant look. She takes the time to understand the looks and vibes you’re wanting.
